Indiaas wetenschapper, onderzoeker, milieu-activiste en ecologist, die natuurkunde studeerde aan de universiteit van Western Ontario (Canada). Vandana Shiva strijdt tegen genetisch gemodificeerde soja (GMO) van Monsanto en won al elf awards voor haar inzet. Is auteur van zo'n twintig boeken, waaronder "Soil not oil", "Earth democracy" en "Who feeds the world?".
